The semiconducting single-walled carbon nanotubes(s-SWNTs) have potential for a wide range of applications in diverse fields. But the seperation s-SWNTs from raw large-diameter single-walled carbon nanotubes(SWNTs) remains a challenge and the dispersion of SWNTs using conjugated polymer and solvent(toluene) has proven to be an effective method. But either purity or yield of the obtained fractions remains unsatisfactory. In this study, various solvents(tetralin, decalin, mesitylene, m-xylene, p-xylene, cumene, chlorobenzene, THF) are selected to optimize both purity and yield. In polarity solvents(chlorobenzene, THF) have led to presence of metallic SWNTs. But in non polarity solvents, an increasing trend in yield is observed with the increase in viscosity and high-purity s-SWNTs(>99%). Especially, high-viscosity solvent(tetralin, decalin) show a significantly higher yield than toluene, and these solvents are either aliphatic or patially aromatic in nature.
