내용
Electron beam (EB) irradiation is a powerful processing technology capable of precisely controlling the chemical and physical properties of materials. In this study, EB irradiation was applied directly to polymer-based lens materials to investigate the resulting changes in surface structure and optical properties. Representative commercial lens substrates—CR-39, MR-8 and polycarbonate (PC)—were selected as targets, and each specimen was irradiated at doses ranging from 25 to 200 kGy. After irradiation, changes in absorbance as well as surface morphology were analyzed. These findings demonstrate the potential of electron beam irradiation as a means of inducing selective surface modification and imparting functionality to polymer materials. Optical and surface properties were analyzed using UV-vis spectrophotometry, contact angle goniometer, and FT-IR. (This was supported 2025 URP and Ulab at Korea National University of Transportation)
