Silver chalcogenide quantum dots (QDs) have tunable band structures and size-dependent short-wave infrared (SWIR) absorption and emission. Their solution-processability enables easy integration into low-cost infrared sensing devices. In this study, we synthesized core/shell-structured silver chalcogenide QDs and characterized their structure and optical behavior using transmission electron microscopy (TEM), X-ray diffraction (XRD), and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. Shell formation effectively suppressed surface trap states, resulting in enhanced PL intensity and improved spectral stability. Device-level measurements confirmed their ability to respond to infrared signals, validating their potential use in photodetector architectures. These findings demonstrate that surface-engineered silver chalcogenide QDs can serve as viable active materials for next-generation SWIR detection technologies.
