Synthesis of Well-Defined Triphenylamine-Based HTL Polymers via Living Anionic Polymerization for Enhanced Perovskite LED Performance

In this study, we carried out living anionic polymerization of A and B containing triphenylamine units with hole transport properties. The anionic polymerization of A and B was performed using sec-BuLi or K-Naph as initiator in THF at -78 oC and -30 oC. Well-defined poly(A) and poly(B) with controlled molecular weights and narrow molecular weight distributions were successfully synthesized at both temperatures without side reactions. Based on these results, well-defined block copolymers incorporating poly(A) or poly(B) segments were also synthesized through block copolymerization with styrene. Finally, we applied poly(A) and poly(B) as hole transport layers in perovskite LEDs (PeLEDs). The device fabricated with poly(B) demonstrated significantly improved performance in PeLEDs compared to the reference device fabricated with PVK. These results suggest that poly(B) can be a new option for HTL in PeLEDs.
