MXene, a two-dimensional material with high electrical conductivity and large surface area, has emerged as a promising candidate for electromagnetic absorption applications. However, its abundant polar functional groups result in poor dispersion within non-polar matrices, limiting its use in non-polar polymer-based composites. In this study, surface-modified MXene was incorporated into an epoxy matrix, and its dispersion behavior was systematically evaluated using shear rheology. Additionally, various nanoparticles (e.g., Fe₃O₄) were uniformly distributed within the MXene nanosheets to further enhance the dispersion and electromagnetic performance of the composites. The resulting shear-rheology-assisted dispersion strategy enables the formation of homogeneous MXene-based epoxy composites with industrially significant electromagnetic absorption properties. This approach provides valuable insights for the design and development of advanced MXene-based electromagnetic absorbing materials.
