The increasing stringency of global environmental regulations including carbon neutrality targets, and directives for circular resource use, demands materials that combine high performance with sustainability. Dynamic covalent bond (DCB)-based polymers have emerged as promising candidates to address these challenges by integrating the robustness with the reprocessability. In this presentation, polymer structure design strategies that govern the dynamic behavior of DCB polymers will be discussed, with a focus on how these features can be tailored to meet the stringent requirements of relevant applications. Furthermore, recent progress in developing closed-loop recycling pathways will be highlighted as a key enabler of sustainable material solutions. By bridging fundamental understanding with practical applications, this work aims to illustrate how DCB polymers can drive environmentally compliant technologies and support the transition to a sustainable future.
