The cold chain is defined as a distribution system that maintains temperature-sensitive products at low temperatures throughout the entire supply process. Exposure to ambient temperatures can lead to quality degradation. In this study, we developed a temperature-responsive polymer. The ion-conductive SPEs based on poly(urethane-urea) was optimized in terms of PTMEG polyol molecular weight, diamine content, Li salt concentration and degree of crosslinking. Under cold storage conditions, the crystallization of polymer chains suppressed Li⁺ mobility and reduced conductivity. In contrast, exposure to increased temperatures induced morphological changes in the polymer, leading to increased Li⁺ mobility and enhanced conductivity. Upon re-cooling, irreversible changes in ionic conductivity enabled traceable thermal history detection. This system demonstrates the potential of a polymer-based sensor platform for cold chain product quality management.
