Polyimide (PI) is a high-performance polymer with excellent thermal stability, mechanical strength, and chemical resistance due to its rigid aromatic structure. Polyurethane offers high tensile strength, toughness, and flexibility. To develop a PI with high tensile strain, we synthesized novel diamine monomers containing both ethylene and urethane groups. Three monomers with three, four, and five ethylene units were prepared and polymerized with 6FDA. Monomer structures were confirmed by FT-NMR, and the resulting polyimides were characterized by FT-NMR and FT-IR spectroscopy. Thermal properties were evaluated by thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), and mechanical properties were measured using a universal testing machine (UTM). The synthesized polyimides showed tensile strains up to 15%, demonstrating enhanced flexibility while maintaining thermal stability.
