내용
To develop smart glass technology with electrochromic devices, we newly synthesized lyotropic chromonic liquid crystal (LCLC) thin films with perylene-diimide reactive mesogen (PDI-M). The PDI-M undergoes a reversible redox transition between its neutral and dianion states, resulting in color shift from red to dark purple. The PDI-M exhibit uniaxial alignment and LCLC network films show enhanced structural stability and physical properties than the monomer state after photopolymerization. Also, the fabricated film enables selective polarization due to uniaxial alignment and high dichroic ratio. These characteristics allow for the application of smart glass devices, including smart windows, and polarization-dependent displays for anti-counterfeitng.
