These days, near-infrared (NIR) organic photodetectors (OPDs) have been widely studied due to their low cost, light weight and flexibility compared to inorganic photodetectors. However, only a few low-bandgap polymer donors (PDs) for NIR OPDs have been reported. In this study, we synthesized three novel low-bandgap PDs incorporating a thieno[3,4-b]pyrazine (TP) moiety, which possesses an unstable aromatic structure to induce further delocalization, and fabricated NIR OPDs to evaluate the photodetecting properties. The device using PCTTP donor exhibited the best performance among the TP-based PDs with high responsivity and specific detectivity of 1.48×1011 mA/W and 5.66×1011 Jones, respectively, under 680 nm with a bias of -1 V.
