Formation of ultrathin NiCoP nanosheets on carbon cloth embedded porous N-PPy nanoparticles for high energy density electrochemical supercapacitor

Uniform mesoporous nitrogen-doped polypyrrole (N-PPy) templates were prepared by annealing carbon-embedded polypyrrole (CC/PPy) in an air atmosphere at various temperatures. The development of the mesoporous nanostructure of CC/N-PPy will be studied through electrochemical measurements and further confirmed with BET analysis. By varying the annealing temperature from room temperature (RT) to 650°C, the crystallite structure and specific surface area can be controlled. Subsequently, CC/N-PPy@NiCo-LDHs were synthesized on the CC/N-PPy templates using a hydrothermal method with varying Ni:Co ratios to achieve an ultrathin structure. The morphology of the resulting CC/N-PPy@NiCo-LDHs showed differences depending on the Ni:Co ratio, which were analyzed using scanning electron microscopy (SEM). Finally, CC/N-PPy@NiCoP was synthesized through phosphidation, completing the desired structure and composition of the material.
