Flexible optoelectronics require flexible transparent electrodes (FTEs) with high electrical conductivity (σ), optical transparency (%T), and mechanical robustness. Herein, we report a cross-aligned grid-like silver nanowire (AgNW) network as FTEs fabricated by direction-controlled bar coating. The larger number of coating cycles led to enhanced σ and reduced %T. Nevertheless, grid-like AgNW network showed the higher %T than that of randomly-distributed AgNW thin films. In addition, grid-like AgNW networks exhibited improved mechanical robustness on flexible and even stretchable substrates. As a result, the FTEs exhibited %T ≥85% in the visible spectral range and a sheet resistance of ≤20 Ω/□ on both rigid and flexible substrates. As organic photodetectors fabricated with grid-like AgNW FTEs showed device performances comparable to those of conventional indium tin oxide-based devices, our results will facilitate the development of high-performance flexible optoelectronics.
