Preparation of multi-purpose hydrophilic polymer network composed of natural polymers

Multipurpose hydrophilic network polymers are three-dimensional networks with excellent water absorption capacity due to many hydrophilic functional groups. Among them, multipurpose hydrophilic network polymers prepared using natural polymers are attracting attention due to their high hydrophilicity. In this study, multi-purpose hydrophilic network polymers are fabricated using natural polymers and hydrophilic organic compounds, and hydrophilic network polymers are fabricated through ionization of natural polymers. In this study, the component ratios of natural polymers were confirmed through colorimetry and FT-IR. After that, a multi-purpose hydrophilic network polymer composed of natural polymers was prepared and swelling degree and physical properties were confirmed. In addition, the ionization of natural polymers was confirmed through substitution degree and FT-IR. The fabricated hydrophilic network polymer is expected to be useful for many purposes.
