Because of their unique three-dimensional cellular structure, aerogels possess high porosity, high surface area, and very low density, resulting in the various application in mechanical, heat, and electrical fields. Conventional inorganic aerogels exhibit poor mechanical properties and their uses are limited. To overcome these difficulties, organic aerogels such as polyimide (PI) aerogels having excellent mechanical properties and high thermal stability are drawing attention. In this work, PI composite aerogel was prepared by freeze-drying method, and electrical properties were given with carbon nano tube (CNT). In addition, a more dense cell structure was formed using crosslinking agents such as 1,3,5-Tris(4-aminophenoxy)benzene (TAB), and mechanical properties were improved to confirm applicability in a wide field. The mechanical properties of PI composite aerogel were examined by SEM, UTM, and TGA, and the electrical analysis was measured by multimeter.
