In this study, a core-shell structure nanocomposite in which polypyrrole (PPy) is wrapped on the surface of Ag nanowire (AgNW), AgNW@PPy, was synthesized through simple solution polymerization. As a feature, the inner AgNW core promotes charge transfer and the outer PPy shell is a structure that can show remarkably high capacitance. From SEM, XRD and Raman analysis, it was confirmed that the structural features of the novel composite materials are a 10 nm thick PPy layer wrapped around AgNW having a diameter of 55nm. And all places of the AgNWs are even coated with PPy. Therefore, AgNW@PPy supercapacitor devices showed large specific capacitance, high rate performance and remarkable harge-discharge stability. The specific capacitance of the 75 nm-thick AgNW@PPy layer was calculated to be 882.58 F g-1 at the scan rate of 1mV s-1, respectively, considering that the specific capacitance on the 100 nm-thick AgNW@PPy layer was 297.16 F g-1.
