초록

내용
The utilization of metallocene catalysts in olefin polymerization has gained tremendous industrial importance, primarily due to the substantial volume of polyethylene produced and the range of applications for these materials. To be utilized effectively, these catalysts are typically immobilized on support materials. Among the various support options, silica stands out due to its exceptional mechanical resilience and chemical inertness. This study focuses on optimizing the physical characteristics and dehydroxylation temperature of both calcined and uncalcined silica as a support for metallocene catalysts. Thorough investigations into the thermal stability and chemical nature of silica were carried out using TGA and FT-IR spectroscopy, respectively. The analysis revealed a correlation between dehydroxylation temperature and the hydroxyl group content of silica, with higher temperatures resulting in reduced hydroxyl groups.
