Intramolecular charge transfer based Spirobifluorene derivatives as efficient HTL and host in phosphorescent OLEDS
Abstract:
A set of donor-acceptor-donor (D–A–D) structures of Spirobifluorene–based small molecules were synthesized and detailed photo-physical investigation were made using mainly steady-state and time resolved spectroscopy techniques. The investigations showed that the molecules have solvent polarity excited-state configurations, confirmed in three different solvents. The ground-state configuration of the molecules has a 90° twisted geometry as determined by DFT calculation, yet the emission originates totally from a locally excited (LE) state. However, the twisted molecular configuration is stabilized, and the emission originated from a fully-relaxed intramolecular charge transfer (ICT).
