Recently, due to the toxicity and the environmental threat of lead, lead-free quantum-dot photodetectors (QPDs) have been grown attention. However, there are still several challenges to develop the high-performance lead-free QPDs such as relatively high dark current value, poor charge transporting properties, and so on. Herein, we fabricated AgBiS2 nanocrystal-based QPDs with a novel conjugated polyelectrolyte (CPE), PFN-Py, as a cathode buffer layer (CBL) to enhance the device performance. Introducing the CPE decreased the work function and reduced trap sites on the electron transporting layer (ETL) surface, which can induce the increasing photocurrent density and reducing dark current density. The incorporation of CPE into AgBiS2 based QPD demonstrated excellent performance with a responsivity of 0.55 A/W and a detectivity of 1.4 × 1012 Jones under a 1.00 mW/cm2 of 680 nm LED light illumination at -0.5 V bias. Furthermore, the response time was significantly improved.
