Artificial synapse has attracted significant interest in the fields of human-machine interface and the learning process of robotics by emulating the intricate neural system. Additionally, recent research related with biodegradable materials have been extensively proceeded owing to their abundance in nature and biocompatibility. However, they are vulnerable to surrounding condition owing to hydrogen bonding with humidity and decrease of bonding force with heat. Here, we develop a hyperstable and biodegradable artificial synapse based on double network of biodegradable polymers using crosslinking which decrease bonding site in polymer. Under external stimuli, ion migration and their trapping inside the double network generate synaptic properties with potentiation and long-term memory. Therefore, we obtained significantly sensitive artificial synapse which can be stimulated by extremely low power consumption of 0.9 × 10–15 J, which is lower than that of biological synapse.
