Supramolecular chemistry has extensively studied the host−guest chemistry of macrocycles such as cyclodextrins, crown ethers, calixarenes, and cucurbiturils. Pillar[n]arenes exhibit interesting host-guest interactions, where they can encapsulate guest molecules within their central cavity due to their unique three-dimensional structure. This property provides attractive properties for various applications, such as molecular recognition, drug delivery, and catalysis. Here, we represented the co-assembly of pillar[5]arene and pillar[6]arene. Spherical vesicle structures were formed via charge-transfer interaction, showing redox-responsive structural transformation for innovative bio applications.
