Tyrosinase is an important oxidase that acts in the earliest rate-determining step of melanogenesis, and inhibiting tyrosinase is one of the effective ways to inhibit melanin production. Peptide assembly via a supramolecular approach can influence interactions with biological systems and ultimately modulate biological activities. Studies combining the reported pentapeptide sequence Gly-Arg-Gly-Asp-Ser (GRGDS) and D-tyrosine, which has been reported to have anti-melanogenic effects, have yet to be studied. D-tyrosine has low solubility due to the aromatic group. Still, when combined with highly polar GRGDS, it is expected to become an amphiphilic supramolecular with high solubility in aqueous solution. Here, we propose a molecule that acts as a tyrosinase inhibitor even at low concentrations through a peptide-based amphiphilic supramolecular substance.
