Microspheres with various functions have been developed using microfluidics, and these microspheres are used in various fields. Soft microspheres have a lower modulus of elasticity than ceramics or metals and are used in scaffolds or tissue engineering due to their biocompatibility, flexibility, and deformability. The low modulus of elasticity of soft microspheres plays an important role in determining their functionality in various applications. Therefore, it is essential to characterize and analyze their mechanical properties. Therefore, in this study, experiments were conducted to characterize the overall elastic behavior of soft microspheres. In this study, experiments were performed through osmotic compression and capillary micromechanics to evaluate the elastic behavior of soft microspheres. This test method can be quantitatively measured by clearly distinguishing the measurement of the compressive modulus and the measurement of the shear modulus.
