Chirality, a fundamental symmetry property found in natural and life sciences, has been the subject of many attempts to apply it to optoelectronic devices. In organic materials, helical structures are induced by chiral structural moieties, chiral properties can be induced by helical structures. In this study, an achiral conjugated polymer (P(NDI2OD-T2)) in solution state was irradiated by ultraviolet (UV) circularly polarized light (CPL) to introduce differences in asymmetric morphology and helical chiral structure, which can be regarded as a simple process. The helical structure in conjugated polymer film after UV-CPL treatment was confirmed by AFM and GIWAXS analyses. Furthermore, it was confirmed by circular dichroism (CD) in polymer solution and films. Consequently, irradiating UV-CPL process to conjugated polymer solution can be a simple process to induce chirality in the polymer films.
