Perovskite nanocrystal/polymer heterostructure based white light-emitting diodes

Among various strategies for self-emissive white LEDs, stacking of red, green, blue-emitting layers in a tandem structure is one of the most promising strategies to demonstrate white LEDs. Meanwhile, metal halide perovskite nanocrystals (PNCs) LEDs have the advantages of high color purity, a low materials cost. But when the PNCs with different halides are stacked in multi-layers, the ion migration occurs at the interface, which induce 1) shift of emission color and 2) decrease of color purity and luminescence efficiency. To solve these problems, we fabricated LEDs with multi-layer stacking of organic polymers and PNCs which emit light at a wavelength of 630 nm and 530 nm respectively, of which the heterostructures based LEDs emit white electroluminescence. Moreover, we systematically investigated dynamic optoelectronic properties and the shift of exciton formation position in the emitting multi-layers in LEDs upon the different bias. This will provide new ideas for developing highly efficient multi-layered white LEDs based on PNCs.
