For biodegradable medical devices that are implanted in the human body, it is necessary to check the performance considering the implantation conditions because the implantation conditions may affect the characteristics of the medical device after implantation. Therefore, conditions (artificial saliva, etc.) similar to those of human implantation of a medical device (absorbable periodontal tissue regeneration inducing material) manufactured by a 3D printer were established, and performance evaluation (appearance, size, mass, molecular weight) was performed after 12 weeks of exposure. In order to confirm the similarity of the constructed similar test conditions with the implantation conditions in vivo, the same performance evaluation was performed after animal implantation (12 weeks). Therefore, it served as an opportunity to confirm the possibility of in vivo substitution through in vitro tests similar to humans, and is expected to help related research and development in the future.
