Fabrication of Assembled FeS<sub>2</sub> Nanosheet and Application for High Performance Supercapacitor Electrodes from FeS<sub>2</sub>/polyaniline

The nanostructure of FeS2, an abundant and inexpensive element, was used to realize a material with high specific capacitance values. This can overcome the low energy density of supercapacitors. In this study, we made fabricate nanosheet-assembled FeS2 (NSA-FeS2). ES/[Fe] was treated to high temperatures to produce NSA-FeS2. NSA-FeS2 is an as-grown, partially connected form of FeS2 nanosheets. In the three-electrode system, The NSA-FeS2/polyaniline(PANI) composites informed a specific capacitance of 976 Fg-1 at a current density of 0.5 Ag−1, and show 96% capacitance retention after 3000 charge-discharge cycles. When the current density was increased from 0.5 to 5 Ag−1, the NSA-FeS2/polyaniline composites maintained 49% capacitance. These suggest that NSA-FeS2/polyaniline composites composites is likely to be used as an electrode material for energy storage devices.
