Moisture-curable polyurethane adhesive has been widely employed in various industries owing to its outstanding adhesion performance, durability, and facile usage. However, polyurethane adhesives exhibit different curing kinetics depending on the curing conditions and present limitations in identifying their curing state. In this presentation, we comprehensively evaluated the structure-property relationships, as well as the chemical and mechanical properties of polyurethane adhesive under different curing conditions, including relative humidity and curing time. The reaction of isocyanate with moisture forms urea bonds, rapidly increasing the modulus of polyurethane adhesive, which eventually saturates without further continuous enhancement. Importantly, at relatively high relative humidity, the curing rate of polyurethane adhesives accelerated further, and the saturated modulus showed greater enhancements.
