Thermal behavior of carbon polymer composites with segregated structure

The expansion of material usage temperature is important in various application aspects. To achieve this, solutions such as matrix modification and increasing filler content can be considered, but these options may be limited in industrial use due to cost increase. In this study, introducing a segregated structure in which incorporated fillers are selectively located on the interface between the matrix and filler allows for significant improvement in the use temperature of the composite while using less filler than composites with random dispersed fillers. The thermal properties of the synthesized composites were analyzed using DSC, and the results were considered in terms of microstructure.
