In this study, we carry out molecular dynamic simulations to investigate the dynamic heterogeneities of glass-forming polymers using a primitive bead-spring model. We quantitatively characterize the slow and dynamic heterogeneity of monomer dynamics using the four-point dynamic structure factor, revealing the growing length scale of dynamically correlated regions as approaching the glass transition. In addition, we found that the shape of these regions transitions from string-like to compact at the characteristic temperature. Interestingly, such a shape change has also been observed in colloidal and atomic glass systems, reinforcing the universality of heterogeneous dynamics in glassy materials.
