As epoxy resin synthesis typically involves the combination and reaction of epoxy with a crosslinking agent, the resins have been widely utilized in flooring, coatings applications, and so on. However conventional epoxy resins derived from petrochemicals are non-recyclable after crosslinking, posing environmental challenges. Herein, we explore novel and fully bio-based monomers and investigate their characteristics. This approach aims to achieve bio-based epoxy resin's competitive mechanical and thermal properties and replace fossil-based analogs. Additionally, the yielding resins behave as a vitrimer, allowing for reconfiguration and recycling after their end of life.
