Controlling Dynamic Bond Exchange Kinetics in Poly(<em>β</em>-amino ester) Covalent Adaptable Network using Small Molecule Dopant

Covalent adaptable networks (CANs) have attracted a lot of interests as a recyclable analogue of thermosetting polymers. Given that the network exchange kinetic significantly influences the macroscopic properties of CANs, considerable efforts have been dedicated to controlling the kinetics by synthesizing CANs with new bond exchange chemistries. However, the ability to easily tailor the physical state and properties of a material is often more desirable than that to precisely define its molecular structure. In this poster, to those ends, we propose a facile approach to controlling the bond exchange rates and thermal transition temperatures of a model CAN, poly(β-amino esters) by simply adding small organic molecule dopant into the CAN matrix.
