LCE can be used as thermal actuator due to the phase transition of LC at TNI with order parameter change of polymer network. However, heat is difficult to apply complex and precise deformation. Photothermal materials solve this problem by converting light energy into thermal energy. Among them, CNTs have excellent light absorption, heat conversion in NIR region and high thermal conductivity to disperse heat into material. However, CNTs’ high surface tension and smooth surface make them easy to aggregate. Non-covalent functionalization can increase the dispersibility without destroying the structure of the CNT. In this study, we make copolymer surfactant composed of pyrene interacting with CNT and mesogen interacting with LCE.
