Physical adsorption of polymer chains is an effective surface modification technique which is simply facilitated by spin-coating followed by thermal annealing. Driven by ubiquitous intermolecular forces such as van der Waals force, hydrogen bonding or dipolar moment, the polymer chains are adsorbed onto the surface to compensate the decreased conformational entropy. In this study, we have investigated the correlation lengths (i.e. the average distance between the two phases) of the physically-adsorbed layers of PS-b-PMMA block copolymers with varied PS volume fractions by GISAXS.
