Uncontrolled bleeding may cause death in severe cases. Hemostasis is significantly important in operating rooms, as it can determine the success of the operation and even the patient’s life. To enhance the effectiveness of hemostatic agents, several properties, such as tissue adhesion and coagulation ability, need to be incorporated. Consequently, research on powder-type agents has been reported to expedite hemostasis in narrow areas. In this study, we utilized a dialdehyde starch (DAS)/ hyaluronic acid (HA) powder with Ca2+ ions and thrombin to fabricate a powder-type agent. Ca2+ ions and thrombin were used as blood coagulation agents, aiming to improve tissue adhesion and blood clotting ability for efficient application without disrupting the wound area. The efficacy of the agents was influenced by the composition of DAS/HA, the amount of crosslinking agent, and particle size. We conducted various experiments to evaluate and compare the physical properties and efficacy of the samples.
