Development of high-water dispersible polyisocyanates with ionic or unionic reacting surfactant

Urethane paint usually consist of polyols, polyisocyanate curing agents, pigments, additives and solvents. Among the components, organic solvents are usually used, which may volatilize into the atmosphere and cause air pollution. Recently, as environmental regulations are strengthened, urethane paint needs to be changed. In this study, the purpose is to develop a polyisocyanate curing agent that can be used by replacing the organic solvent with water. It is obtained using reactive ionic emulsifiers or non-ionic emulsifiers and we can implement particle size of 150 nm or less by diluting a curing agent in water.
