This study developed highly efficient white platinum (II) emitters for phosphorescent organic light-emitting diodes (PhOLEDs) with superior color rendering indices. The unique perpendicular geometry of the bulky m-xylyl-amine effectively enabled efficient blue emission at low doping ratios and efficient white emission at higher doping ratios. Single-emitter white PhOLEDs were successfully fabricated with impressive external quantum efficiency (16.93%) and current efficiency (28.92 cd A−1). The color rendering index reached 83.39, showcasing attractive white PhOLEDs with minimal spectral changes at different driving voltages. This work highlights the significance of Pt ligand geometry in controlling excimer formation and offers potential for advanced and efficient white OLED technology.
