An initiator in the binder is very important for the production of silver paste capable of low-temperature curing. In this study, we investigated the effects of various initiators on the characteristics of a binder and silver paste that can be cured at low temperatures. Differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermal gravimetric analysis (TGA) were operated to investigate initiation and thermal decomposition properties of the binders. The relationship between gel contents and electrical conductivity of cured pastes were explored to reveal how curing ratio affects electrical conductivity. Our results conclude high curing rate by appropriate use of the initiator leads to high electrical conductivity.
