Over the past decades, halide perovskite solar cells (PSCs) have drawn significant interest in attaining high efficiency and stable devices. In this study, newly designed and synthesized quinoxaline-based organic small molecules employing triphenylamine in inverted p-i-n structure devices as the functional organic hole transport materials (HTMs). For improving the interface’s charge carrier extraction and minimized non-radiative recombination decreased energy level offset through the passivation effect between NiOx and wide-bandgap perovskite. This induced hydrophobic properties, high-quality perovskite thin film, larger grain size, and higher crystallinity. Accordingly, this PSCs study provides a highly useful design strategy for the organic interlayer using quinoxaline-based organic small molecules.
