To demonstrate consistent reflection of colors from all viewing angles, novel wrinkled photonic crystal papers (PCPs) have been fabricated. The process involved shear-coating a reactive cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) mixture onto a wrinkled interpenetrating polymer network (IPN) rubber substrate, which was then stabilized through photopolymerization. This facile fabrication method allows for scalability in developing chirophotonic materials with precisely controlled helical pitch and curvature dimensions. The presence of micrometer-scale wrinkles and helical structures in the wrinkled PCPs was confirmed through observations using POM and SEM. Importantly, the reflection wavelength of the wrinkled PCPs remained constant even when the viewing angle was changed. These 1D stripe and 2D wavy wrinkled PCPs hold promise in various applications, such as anti-counterfeiting films and monochromatic light reflectors.
