In this study, we present a novel approach to synthesize diverse topological polymers from a single precursor. They are including like linear, ring, 8-shape, and branched architectures. The precursor of polystyrene was prepared using an acetylene-functionalized dibromo ATRP initiator. Subsequently, post-modification of the end chains of polystyrene was done from Bromo to thiol. The acetylene and thiol functional groups of polymer chains are utilized for nucleophilic Thiol-Yne or Thiol oxidation reactions. The versatility of this approach to using both the thiol and acetylene functional groups to prepare a range of distinct topological polymer architectures. To characterize these structures, we employed advanced analytical techniques, including 1H, 13C NMR, SEC, HPLC, MALDI-TOF, and Raman Spectroscopy. The ability to produce various topologies from starting material opens exciting possibilities for applications in material science, nanotechnology, and biomedicine.
