With the rapid development in wearable electronics, self-powered devices have recently gained a lot of attention in order to overcome the restriction of conventional power sources. In this regard simple and scalable triboelectric nanogenerators (TENG) gain interest for self-powered sensor development by coupling energy harvesting and sensing ability. MXenes (2D transition metal carbides or nitrides) attracted increased interest as fillers that improve the triboelectric performance of PVDF-based materials, a typical TENG negative dielectric layer material that greatly enhance the triboelectric performance through dielectric modulation. In this work MXene (Ti3C2Tx)/PVDF-HFP nanocomposite films with maximum output power density and maximum open circuit voltage as compared to pristine PVDF-HFP were fabricated. This finding provides guidance for designing advanced triboelectric materials but also call for more exploration for fundamental mechanisms behind dielectric modulation.
