Intermolecular interactions offer unique principles of creating photoelectronic activities of molecules. The activities are dictated primarily by spatial dispositions among molecules; therefore, understanding the superstructure-activity relationship is of paramount importance. My group is interested in intermolecular processes in organic and organometallic molecules, and found their intimate links to actions of a variety of photonic systems. Particular focus is placed on the degradation of organic devices, the photo(redox)catalysis, and the generation of circularly polarized luminescence. This talk showcases the governing principles and key examples of intermolecular interactions in the photonic systems.
