Diglycerol as an alternative Plasticizer for Starch based Polymer Composite

Starch based polymers are spotlighted materials in eco-friendly science field for their cheap, non-toxic, and eco friendly feature. However, these starch-based polymers have critical issue of becoming aged by its intrinsic hydrophilic behavior. Its super hydrophilic behavior makes these polymers become ruined before they are handed to customers. Herein, in this poster, we used diglycerol as an alternative plasticizer of glycerol to make polymer somewhat hydrophobic, resulting an increased consumer availability date. Characteristics of these polymers were evaluated by diverse methods.
