With the dramatic increase in computer performance, the technology of computer simulation is significantly developed. Especially, the molecular and multiscale simulations have become much important in many research fields because they can effectively elucidate macroscopic phenomena in terms of atomic and continuum levels. Accordingly, the utilization of these simulation technologies can be a promising direction in future research for interdisciplinary efforts from both experimental and theoretical parts. In this presentation, the practical applications of molecular and multiscale simulations are introduced. I would like to mainly focus on the examples of convergence research with the experimental groups in various research fields (e.g., nanophotonics, rechargeable battery, carbon-based nanomaterials). Through the aid of computer simulation, we can theoretically analyze the mechanism of complex phenomena that occurred in the materials/devices.
