Amphiphilic grafting polymers, featuring side chains covalently attached to a linear backbone, offer immense potential for diverse applications, including imaging, scaffolding, and drug delivery. In this study, our focus lies on comprehending how the conformation of these polymers influences their self-assembly behavior, particularly in scenarios where the solubilities of the backbone and side chains differ significantly. Employing a coarse-grained model, we systematically investigate the effects of various structural variations, ranging from grafting polymers with uniform, tapered, or randomly distributed grafting points to brush-linear block copolymers with a high density of grafting points on one side. We construct a comprehensive phase diagram, complemented by a detailed analysis of chain conformations, including end-to-end distance and radius of gyration calculations, to provide a holistic understanding of the overall chain structure.
