Recently, there has been significant research on self-assembled monolayer materials in the field of perovskite solar cells. Particularly, there is considerable interest in developing a high-power conversion efficiency Perovskite solar cell that eliminates the need for a hole transporting layer. In this study, we investigated the impact of a self-assembled monolayer based on a thiophene derivative on a nickel oxide hole transport layer on the performance of a perovskite solar cell. The results of our investigation revealed that the HOMO level matching between the self-assembled monolayer and the perovskite layer is a critical factor affecting the device performance.
