초록

내용
In the existing literature, the most common approach for synthesizing sulfonated polymers involves post-modification of polymers having aromatic backbones. However, the inherent randomness of the sulfonate moieties in such polymers posed challenges in understanding the underlying thermodynamics of electrolyte properties. In this study, we designed monomers with sulfonic acid groups tethered at precise locations and conducted controlled polymerization of these pre-designed monomers. With an aim to develop anhydrous proton conductors, the sulfonated polymers were doped with ionic liquids in varying compositions. It was revealed that the physicochemical properties of these electrolytes were influenced by the tethered position of sulfonic acid groups, attributed to different strengths of electrostatic interactions. This approach allowed us to tailor molecular interactions between embedded ions and polymer matrices, offering promising opportunities for advancing proton-conducting polymers.
