Development of Metal Fluorides for Broadband Antireflective Structures

A series of metal fluorides are attractive in a wide range of optical devices as optimal anti-reflection coating materials, and they significantly enhance the performances of light-absorbing and emitting components. We explore the design optimization approaches for achieving practically low reflectivity using multiple substances, such as MgF2, LaF3, and AlF3, etc., Additionally, we investigate both top-down and bottom-up approaches to enable effective ARCs. The proposed methods realize a highly continuous refractive index coverage, resulting in broadband and omnidirectional ARC performance achieved by the seamless pore generation strategy.
