Laterally Buckled Polymeric Microlines and Their Applications

Buckled shapes have been utilized to form random or periodic patterns in unconventional manners. Lateral buckling can be found in high-aspect-ratio patterns while applying compressive stress in the lateral direction. In the presentation, recent works to form laterally buckled lines will be introduced and discussed. The laterally buckled shapes could be used for the applications such as anticounterfeit, stress dissipation, and mitigation of the moiré effect in optical films.
