This presentation focuses on the design of a molecularly imprinted fibrous mat to efficiently and rapidly remove UV-328, a persistent organic pollutant. The target molecule is widely used as a UV absorber in many products, but repeated exposure can have harmful effects on organs such as the liver and kidneys. To address this issue, we designed a fibrous, conjugated microporous polymer (CMP)-based mat with a large surface area and multi-modal porosity, which provide abundant and accessible binding sites for the adsorption of POP. By incorporating a hollow structure, we created a matrix capable of even faster and more effective adsorption of UV-328, enabling selective adsorption through molecular recognition. This conceptual design would offer advantages of rapid and selective adsorption for other POPs.
